Psalm 12
8 The wicked freely strut about
when what is vile is honored among men.
Our media, Hollywood... our govt. and US citizens are condemning Israel... and HONORING, practically praising the Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Its has become almost POPULAR to side against Israel. Today I did a little Facebook search for groups that were praying or siding with Israel. Instead I found page after page condemning Israel.
I won't really get into the details of the conflict, but just wanted to share that verse..
The good news is...in the two verses prior to verse 8:
6 And the words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.
7 O LORD, you will keep us safe
and protect us from such people forever.
Scary SCARY thing to side against God's blessed nation... He will protect Israel and His people.

Funny, from all of Tuesday and Wednesday's readings that I read yesterday (playing catchup), verses 6 and 8 really stood out to me as well.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was interesting the use of the word 'strut'. He could have said that the wicked will walk around freely, but instead it says that they will "strut about". This calls to mind two different images, both a proud rooster and a runway model.
I also really liked verse six because it is so visual. I just imagine the purest silver in liquid form, and that is how flawless the word of the Lord is. It is comforting to have such truth when we live in a country where most people's truth comes from whatever they're watching on TV.
